How to install Eaglesoft
NOTE: We must use static IP address on your Eaglesoft database server machine.
Step by step installation:
Step 1: You should have one (1) compact disc labeled Eaglesoft Version xx
Step 2: Close all running programs including the Eaglesoft server
Step 3: Make a backup (same as daily backup)
Step 4: Log into Windows with Administrative Rights before installing
Step 5:
Beginning with your server machine, single-click Install Eaglesoft
Step 6: Click Next> until you get License Agreement, select I accept the terms in the license agreement. After you read it then click on Next>
Step 7: Give the License number with respect to office
Step 8:
Choose “Server and Workstation” if we are installing Server OR you can install Workstation only for office users.
“Startup Server at boot” to start the server automatically at startup (optional). This step applies to the Server machine only.
Click Next>
Step 9: For Workstation Only
To store data from workstation to server, browse to the Server Database and click Next>
Click on checkbox if any additional components required and click Next>
Verify summary and information, Click Next> Install> Finish>OK
Step 10: Restart the computer, After rebooting, the Finishing Patterson Installation window appears
The Patterson Auto Update (PAU) screen will appear. This utility will allow you to receive future updates to Eaglesoft over the Internet without using CDs.
Step 11:
The first machine that is installed that has Internet access will be designated as the Portal machine
The other machines in your office will be designated as the Portal Client
We should leave the PAU to Daily
To set the frequency: 1. Select the Configuration tab
2. Next, select the Base tab
3. In the Update Checking area, set the Daily day number to determine how often to check for updates.
OR
4. Select the Weekly radio button to check for updates once a week instead.
5. Select Save
Step 12: MULTI USERS
Repeat steps 4-12 for each machine on your network. Once the installation has been completed on the Server machine, you may start the Eaglesoft Server to allow the database to upgrade. A status bar will appear to show your database is being upgraded. *** Remember, do not start Eaglesoft until the database upgrade has completed and the new version of Eaglesoft has been installed on this machine.
